Like some of the ex-Soviet countries last - "democratic" Yugoslavia also used the "old designs".

You're welcome Paul, "Yugoslav" heraldry was always very interesting to me.

Radmilo,
Can you explain the symbolism on the republic of Croatia issue?
Paul
Paul,
Those coats of arms in the middle of the trefoil are also part of the official coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia today, from left to right:
-This coat of arms is considered to be the oldest Croatian coat of arms, it was used by Hungarian rulers of Croatia.
-Coat of arms of Dubrovnik, originally Hungarian as well, simplified version of the Arpad dynasty coat of arms.
-Coat of arms of Dalmatia granted and confirmed by Holy Roman emperor Sigismund.
-Coat of arms of Istria, originates from the March of Istria coat of arms.
-Coat of arms of Slavonia, officially granted by king Ladislaus Jagiello
When it comes to trefoil itself or Croatian Trefoil I think that it was first officially used during NDH as the symbol of the Croatian Home Guards, it could be seen on banners, shoulder boards and collars of officers and NCOs. Iron Trefoil was the highest decoration of NDH and the same design was used for Order of the Crown of King Zvonimir (shown above). Symbol was also used by NDH Air Force.
Although there are some claims that it was used during Austro-Hungarian rule as far as I know it was never officially introduced. It was sometimes worn on uniforms of the Home Guard during ceremonies but then again this was not exclusively Croatian custom. This official symbol of NDH was introduced again by Croatian president Franjo Tuđman in 1995 as the Order of Croatian Trefoil (shown above).

Rogi thanks for great images!
Just for comparison here's my Partizanska spomenica with BK hallmark.

Thanks Gunner, I did not know that even the boxes for the Soviet made decorations were "numbered".
0 -
Yugoslav numbered decorations usually have the number handwritten on the back side of the box. Unfortunately I think that Soviets didn't do the same or am I wrong? Is there a number on the back side of your box?

When it comes to Soviet order I think it originally came with that box, I've seen them in that type of boxes before. Actually I've seen them in only two different types of boxes which on the outside look more or less similar.
And this is the first time I see that gilded one in a box.

Do you maybe have documents for these awards? It would be great to see when was that #480 awarded...

And the case the above Monetny Dvor issue came in.
Your MD and early IKOM box from above look pretty similar. Apart from perhaps small difference in size the inscription is different - Latin on yours and Cyrillic on mine.

Monetny Dvor Order of Bravery numbered 480.
Great find with excellent number, seems to be very well preserved!
Thanks for images.

Order of Saint Sava vs. Order of the Eagle of Este

I agree, Yugoslav decorations were really much cheaper in the past... But I think that 80$ was still a great price even then considering that this was one of the highest decorations of SFRY (8th in order of precedence).

Now you have really piqued my imagination. How in the world did this wind up in Pakistan? I had always assumed it came from a Russian officer killed in Afghanistan, but 1st class would have been a high ranking officer. Perhaps an Afghan ambassador to Yugoslavia? (Based on the info below) There was absolutely nothing else related with it; it was just lying on a blanket along with some other Russian and Afghan stuff. It cost 2400 Pk rupees (about $80 US at the time) I suppose there's no way to identify the owner? It's well outside my normal area of interest.
Best,
Hugh
80$, great find and even better price
Considering that the star was found in Pakistan maybe it was awarded to some Pakistani official or diplomat...

Indeed!
ZIN pieces have punched number right between these two rivets
Nice breast star man!
Thanks Nick, here's the 2nd class ribbon:
