Greetings GC, nice to see you on the forum again.
Very nice collection of cap badges! I just have one question, can you tell us something more about that cloth badge for generals? I don't remember seeing it before.0 -
I think I know what's the story behind strange description.
I was just checking to see what was the price one more War Banner achieved on that famous HD Rauch auction couple of years ago.
When I finally found it, translated the text from German to English and noticed that the translation of the description on HDRauch is the same as the description on ebay.
Check it out: http://www.sixbid.com/browse.html?auction=304&category=4558&lot=240251

I hope you won the lottery since you wrote the last time
The order looks OK to me, really I can't see anything wrong with it.
As for the price, last War Banner I saw on ebay (2013) was sold for about the same amount. Unfortunately I don't remember if the stones were genuine but I doubt it. Only the order was on sale, so no box and no document.
I think that it's not likely that the stones on the one from ebay are real.
There are definitely hallmarks on the back side.
I think that everything's OK with the document and that it was just "photoshopped". If the seller left the year visible we could probably check who was the recipient.
About the silver needle, that also looks good to me, I saw same thing on many other examples. Actually on all orders I have images of needle looks the same.

PS now that we're discussing his private life I found information online that he was married to the daughter of Nikola Pašić.

Such a handsome fellow plus a diplomat and future prime minister, I reckon it's her loss

Greeting Paul,
His name is not correctly written (for understandable reasons), it should be Božidar Purić (Божидар Пурић). Wiki page about him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Božidar_Purić
He was prime minister of the government in exile formed in 1943 among other things.

First the facts:
-Photo should be from 1890
-Recipient is I believe judicial captain 1st class born in 1860
-First decoration is obviously Order of the Cross of Takovo 5th class
-Medal in question is on suspension ring and has a multi color ribbon
Considering that this person was born in 1860 chances that it could be something from the Wars of 1876-78 are in my opinion slim, especially because the medal doesn't seem to be 1876-77-78 Commemorative War Medal.
It obviously isn't Medal for Military Virtues (1883).
Absence of 1885-86 Commemorative War Cross suggests it can't be 1885-86 Bravery Medal (apart from that golden is on completely red ribbon, and the silver is smaller than one on the photo) but could it be Medal for Zealous Service in War of 1885-86? Size is about right and its ribbon is red with 4 blue stripes... I don't know could an officer receive it without being awarded with the Commemorative War Cross, even the judicial one.
I am pretty sure it can't be Royal Household Medal.
So I am running out of ideas, does anyone know what that medal might be? All comments are more than welcome.

PS the badge on the first photo looks like Russian Nikolaevsky School of Engineers badge.

I don't want to step on your toes but isn't that the same order you showed us here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?/forums/topic/58993-serbia-order-of-st-sava-v-class-1883-huguenin-freres/
Did you perhaps dig up some new information on the producer?

Don't mention it Paul.
Owner said that that's just a small portion of his collection, perhaps around 20% of nearly 1000 orders and 500 medals.0 -
