Next up, the Order of the Yugoslav Grand Star. This is awarded in a single class to Heads of State for special merit in developing and strengthening cooperation and friendly relationships between Yugoslavia and other nations. This is identical to the communist-era order of the same name, and although I only have a scruffy little picture, looks the same as well.

In comparision, here's a (much better!) image of the communist-era star:

irst up, the highest award, which is a new one: the Order of Yugoslavia (Orden Jugoslavije). It is given to Heads of State and other senior members of government. In effect it has 2 classes, as the Collar and Star are reserved for actual Heads of State, while the Sash and Star can go to any leader who may not be technically a Head of State.

Apologies for quality, they're from these images I think are from the booklet mentioned above.
I have found couple of new scans of the FRY decorations, unfortunately not much better quality.

I believe that you're right. It looks like someone just put central (back) medallion from the 1st type order (Scheid maybe?) on a typical Huguenin made order. Also Rogi mentioned that they've marked it as a replacement, I think that the Chancellery for decorations would issue "normal" order as a duplicate for example regular Huguenin, not a combination of a couple of different types. I could understand the opposite situation, if medallion with the year 1883 was applied on the first type order. For example Chancellery had some amount of orders with monogram on the back side and instead of getting rid of them when Karađorđević's came to power they just replaced the back medallions.

Two badges on eBay right now, one damaged, but with a complete 1980's priviledge document set @ $400 and a loose one, no docs but in near perfect condition @ $499.00
This seems really high to me for these pieces??
I agree, just take a look at this set including that decoration. It was sold 6 months ago on one Serbian ebay-like site for similar price (little less that 500$)... Sellers on ebay are also from ex-Yugoslavia countries...

Here's the Icon on my Huguenin order.

My congrats on the order, it looks great! The box is also well preserved.
Perfect order to start your Serbian/Yugoslav collection with, may it be just the beginning of a great collection!
Kind regards,

Greetings gentlemen,
I would like to try to revive this topic with "soft" M1939 infantry lieutenant colonel's shoulder boards (epoletuške).
Could someone tell me what's the difference between "soft" and "hard" shoulder boards? My thoughts on this are that maybe the soft type shoulder boards were for war (and everyday?) uniform (svakodnevna i pohodna uniforma) and that the hard shoulder boards were for parade uniform (svečana i praznična uniforma). According to the regulations from 1939 mundir with two rows of buttons (color depending on the color of the branch) as a part of parade uniform was back but those parade uniform round epaulettes were no longer in use. Cockade was replaced with two-headed eagle emblem. Shoulder boards for cavalry, engineering and medical officers were silver with golden stars, everyone else had golden shoulder boards with silver stars (check out the table in post #72, and also lightfoot's shoulder boards in post #37).

Greetings Paul,
I believe that the medal that was on ebay was genuine. I don't like using pictures from ebay but here goes.

Greetings Rogi, here are couple of pictures of that decoration from the Military Museum. By the way there is a scarce Medal of Queen Draga on ebay right now, starting price was 0.99$ and it went up to almost 2.000$!
