After the death of Prince Arsen, brother of King Petar I, his son Prince Pavle (Prince Paul of Yugoslavia) gave all of his decorations to the Military Museum. Today only 4 of them are still kept in the museum, everything else was lost after the war.

    3. I really like that M51. I have never seen one of those before. Also, those are some amazing medal bars.

Those Yugoslav M51 submachine guns (cal 7.62mm), also known as Matić-Cvetić prototypes, were made especially for the Day of the Army (22. December) in a very limited number and were given to high officials, Tito's generals. I have read somewhere that the name of the receiver was inscribed on every piece.

Last year I was able to see in person and take a picture of the piece that used to belong to General Koča Popović.

    4. You are welcome.

That's organisation's official badge. SUBNOR (Federation of Associations of Veterans of the National Liberation War is maybe the best translation) was formed couple of years after the war as a, among other things, political organisation that would gather members of the partisan movement. SUBNOR still exists today http://www.subnor.org.rs/

      Best regards,

      Radmilo

      Cross for Devotion 1858

According to museum's website they possess the only known specimen! This is the first Serbian commemorative medal. Cross was given to clergy and medal to other participants of the St. Andrew's Day Assembly. According to one source 378 medals and 58 crosses were issued. The medal below was sold couple of years ago by Barac & Pervan for 1600 euros!

    12. Radmilo thanks neither were overendowed with beauty but Draga wasn't as hideous as that medal portrayed.

Interesting photos on the first Alexander is clearly wearing the Order Milosh the Great before the White eagle, while in the second group he is not wearing the Order of Milosh, yet Draga has a particularly sexy Milosh breast star so presumably the photo of Alexander was made before 1898 while the photo of Draga was post wedding (sloppy cut and pasting by the postcard manufacturer).

      Paul

I agree Paul, in the lower right corner a year 1903 is inscribed, if the picture was really taken that year it is possibly one of their last. Here are the "originals" of the other one.

      Kind regards,

      Radmilo
