As you can see the exhibition was supposed to be open until 26th September. When I went the last day to see the exhibition and make some photos the doors were locked. I went inside the museum to see if someone can let me in and that's when I was told: "We decided to close the exhibition earlier, we already started packing everything." Really unbelievable!

    2. Thank you, Peter.
The color of the blanket is actually light beige. I'm not sure if it's really US, considering that the Serbian troops received uniforms and equipment from the Allies after the retreat through Albania that's one possibility. I was looking for French and British WW1 era blankets and what I saw online looked even more different. I know how it goes with the "family stories", I'm not absolutely sure if it's true, but one thing's certain, this blanket has been in the family for five generations. Perhaps it isn't military issue at all...

    3. Seems like Serbia didn't have military attaches in France so generally speaking its representatives must have been even more keen to attend the maneuvers. First of all that was a nice opportunity to visit France and there's also the financial aspect. I stumbled upon information about their travel allowances in the Official Military Gazette but I was foolish enough not to save it. Also let's not forget that officers who attended the maneuvers received the Legion of Honor. I don't know if that was a general rule but my ancestor was awarded with the 4th class (officer) during the 1912 maneuvers.
