The Carabinieri have 2 marked Lotus Evoras' in Rome. Unfortunetly not for chasing bad guys but for blood deliveries.

Dan,
I wouldn't believe half of those. The Lambo in the UK was a road safety display at the Motor show. And the Exige is clearly taken in Australia not the UK.
Trust me the best you get in the UK is a Diesel Ford.

Im not sure but I don't think he is a Policeman. He is not wearing a whistle chain from his button to his pocket and he has no Divisional numbers on his shoulder. The corporal stripes which could be for Acting Police Sergeant look far to big. A wild guess but I think he is a Royal Marine?

Prosper,
What did the Police get up to during the Battle. You hear that the French Police hardly came out of the occupation smelling of roses! Did they join in, look away?or god forbid assist the Germans.

Isn't the Badger still here? I think he was a Cambridgeshire Special.

Brian, us in London call it a lid or a tit, not in the rude sense but in cockney rhyming slang " Tit for Tat " = Hat

Brett,
I'm not so sure. I would like a system of short term Commisions much like the Army. The useless and indefferent will go to jobs in the city with something nice on their CV and the good Seniors stay on learning as they go.
I would also put into place promotion for the lower ranks on merit and skills. The ability to pass an exam in my view is not enough to promote them as is the case at the moment.
Best

As always we will get tarred with the same brush!
The Met is the same as every big city Police, the corruption is within the higher officers and the CID not with the uniform guys. And because of this rubbish no one knows that a PC was shot at the weekend unarmed and doing his duty!
The oldest and the best Force in the world.

Bill,
The medal was made by the Royal Mint and indeed had a card in the box from the Royal Mint. They were issued un named so unable to tell who it was issued to. I will dig mine out and hopefully add a photo.

Thank you Megan,
Any comment concerning the ungentlemanly post by Darrell or do we just leave abusive posts alone?

Darell,
It really is time for you to leave us here. I am sure that from your spelling and grammar you were tired and emotional when you made this post but even so, if you have nothing to contribute here at GMIC please stay at the forum you feel more comfortable with.
Goodbye and good luck.

Robin,
You could come back as a PCSO and still face nothing and still get a medal! (Drum roll cymbal crash I thank you!)

Not only hot Mervyn but highly flammable which is nice to know when you are getting flares and fireworks fired at you
as you say I think even a passing tourist from outer Mongolia would identify a British Police officer!

Nick,
Was that white traffic helmet for real or an April Fools?
I can imagine the poor probationer being forced to wear it!
I remember an old advertising poster at Hendon in the bar advertising the straw helmet. I thought it was just a name I never would have guessed it was actually made of the stuff.
The Luton helmet looks like something a ploughman would have worn in Somerset. Incredible stuff.
Does the Northumbria Force have the tit back or have they gone the way of so many Forces and adopted the flat cap. I hope not a real gripe with me is the wearing of a flat cap. Its not more comfortable and they both get knocked off in a tumble....ahem time to step of the soap box.

Tony,
Do you remember the sub station of Carter Street? A fearsome reputation that nick had! so much so that you would get a nice confession from your prisoner as long as you told them they weren't going to Carter Street!
