Found this hat, but I am stumped by the insignia. I have found similar examples that are Royal Thai in origin, but nothing matches.

FWIW the hat is definately styled after the classic Marine Corps 8 point cover.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

While I have not bothered to read the article I can tell you that I have used some compact IR laser designators that will zap your eye and give you migraines for life, you won't even know it until the pain starts as there is no blink response to IR....

Volume 1 and 2 for a total of 243 official pics, all with captions on the back.

The 1 REP were formed in 1955 (1 September to be exact) from the 1 BEP, and disbanded in April 1961 following their participation in an attempted military putsch in Algeria. They had badges made by both Drago (like yours) and Courtois.

Does the REP badge look good? is the Drago marking correct of the 55-61 period?

Would it be safe to assume that this one was likely made between 1954 & 1959 when Cuba went to Castro? Or is this jeweler known to have stayed in business into the Castro years?

Would it be bad form for me to ask what something like this would be worth? I have no idea what it is made of but it is feels darn heavy too me.....

Anyone have any ideas on which grade this is?

Does anyone have any info on these awards? What I could find points that they are not a military award.
