    1. Leigh, Going back to the photo of the three lads with a Shipley photographers address, what you have there is formerly 245th Graduated Bn, Training Reserve who have been converted to 51st(Graduated)Bn, Queens Regt. They were based in Thoresby, Notts before moving to Sheffield, Yorks in January 1918. Graham.
    2. A lovely study of a Drum Major and Drummer Boy, is this case 3079 Drum Major Walter Casey and Drummer C. Head, both of the 2nd Bn, Northumberland Fusiliers taken 1903. Casey himself had enlisted as a boy in 1891 and eventually went onto become a/S.M.(later RSM) 1/7th Bn, N.F.(T.F.), taking the battalion to France in April 1915. He was later commissioned into the H.L.I. from whom he eventually retired. Graham. Leigh, Anything familiar with this photo? PS, All Graduated and Young Soldier Battalions, which were alloted to infantry regiments were converted to 'Service' Battalions in February 1919 and sent to join the Army of the Rhine.
    3. 'Pamphlet for Recruiters 1896' & 'Extracts from Militia Regulations 1895, Paragraph 133'. Graham.
    4. Funny how some things don't change. Taken from 'Standing Orders of the Northumberland Fusiliers(5th Regiment of Foot) - 1916'. Graham.
    5. My feelings exactly. Items turn up within units that are in retrospect 'semi-official' and wouldn't meet with official standards. Among my NF collection I have an almost full run of post 1950's cloth Northumberland Home Guard shoulder titles, which were removed from a tailors book in Northern Ireland of all places. Seem to be 'one off's', as I've never seen the same again. Graham. Macedonian Mule Corps MIC's are here;- http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...mp;mediaarray=*
    6. Check these MIC's for the Zion Mule Corps;- http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documen...mp;mediaarray=* Graham.
    7. Final mystery RRF badge. A 'R.R.F./A.C.F.' shoulder title, again origin unknown. Had this title probably the longest in the collection and first seen late 1970's. Graham.
    8. If we started an NF/RNF thread we probably would be in big trouble for hogging all of the download file space, as we could probably go on forever. If you do have any NF/RNF photo's you'd like like me to look at would look upon it as a pleasure to do so. Even though I have over a 1,000 photo's I still like to see other peoples as they inevitably(?) have a 'corker or two', which gets my adrenalin going. Although not NF related saw a photo my mate bought last weekend, which was to me of great significance. The guy who was identified as 'Raphael Constantis' serving with 29th Div in Alexandria and is almost certainly 'Macedonian Mule Corps' of all things. Graham.
    9. 1st Bn, RRF brassard from Balkans tour showing the new U.N. patch you describe. Graham.
    10. Leigh, Believe the unusual design for RRF officers(major and above) was in use long before the Invasion of Kuwait in 1992. As a collector/researcher I'm suprised just how many types of badges can be found to one individual modern regiment. Many badge collectors I know are 'puritans', when it comes to collecting and will not continue into amalgamations, then moan because they 'can't find nowt'. I made it my mission to carry my NF/RNF collection over to include the RRF and can say that it's paid off with far more badges than I would have expected. I also ran it to include T.A., A.C.F. and C.C.F. units that are RRF affiliated and that brought more stuff in. Graham.
    11. Queens Fusiliers Officers rank slide - came with just unit title and pips/crowns were added. Only have this one in a tan colour, never seen in black on olive apart from O/R's. Leigh, Thanks for adding your input to this post, it's been nice to see that 'Fusiliers' title which has avoided me for years. I do have other cloth stuff which is RRF associated and will add as time permits. Cheers, Graham.
    12. RRF Officers rank slides off woolley pulley and dark green shirts. Again have a full set. Graham.
    13. RRF Officers rank slides - light coloured for desert/tan uniforms. Have a full run of these from RRF H.Q. Graham.
    14. Top - RRF Companies, the 'West Midlands Regiment'. AMF(Air Mobile Force) - Worn by ? Regular RRF Bn attached to AMF. Graham.
    15. RRF other ranks slip-on titles for shirts and woolley pulley's - all battalions. Graham.
    16. 'Second Fusiliers' - 2nd Bn, RRF from DPM Jacket. 'Queens Fusiliers' - Short lived slip-on title from 'woolly pulley' & DPM Jacket. Graham.
    17. 'First Fusiliers' - 1st Bn, RRF off both desert & temperate jackets. Graham.
    18. RRF Battalion/Company Flashes;- St. Oswalds Shield(based on Northumbrian District) - 6th Bn, RRF Macaw(based on 46th(South Midland)Div) - 5th Bn, RRF Arms of the City of London - RRF Companies, London Regt. Graham.
    19. The 'DZ' patches as mentioned by Tyneside Irish. One from DPM jacket and the smaller one from the helmet cover. Due to complaints from the Parachute Regt who have the monopoly over 'DZ' patches the title was later changed to 'Tactical Flash' for those worn on jackets. Graham.
    20. Some of my RRF cloth stuff coming your way for viewing. "Royal Regt of Fusiliers" cloth shoulder title - origin unknown, but first found around 1980. Graham. PS Please excuse some of the colouring, this is due to the scanner not showing them clearly.
