    1. Hello, all - I have a couple of questions on the Austrian Hungarian Merit Crosses. First the 1914-1918 period someone said do not have the center enameled - correct? Second I guess these were awarded to officers who did not get the War Merit Cross? I have a photo of an Hungarian Oberlieutenant wearing one with a Bavarian Order of War Merit 4th with swords. I do not know if his Merit Cross is Gilt or Silver - any suggestions? He was also an Infantry type - he also had the Gilt and silver Sigmun Landis, Karl Troop Cross, a single wound medal and the 1922 Hungarian Combat Leadership Badge. Any help would be appreciated thanks Captain Albert

    4. I am trying to purchase this card at present, but can't quite figure out when the man actually earned the Croix du Combat. In 1943 he was 70 years old. Also is there any way to get any information on this man? Cheers Captain Albert

    7. These are normally considered navy binoculars and were sold to many countries before the war. Are there date markings on the short pieces that come off of the central adjustment hinge? They would appear like this, X.16 or IV.14.

      Chip

No date marks. They have at the top of the adjusting ring "15X" with a mark for "70" and a mark for "60". Top ring is also marked "Germany". What War are talking about WW1 or WW2? Thanks Captain Albert
