It looks like the button with the rampant lion is a Royal Bulgarian Army button.

I wonder if the button I thought was Ottoman could be Algerian, as it says BREVETE on the back?

I just received these buttons today. I know the flaming grenade is French o.r.'s. Am I correct in believing the second one is Ottoman? It has the word BREVETE on the back opposite what looks to be a crescent and star. I thought the third one was Bavarian, but it would have a double tail if it was. Can anyone help? Thanks, Paul

I just figured out after blowing up the picture, that is says "B.W. V.M." instead of POW.

Here's mine. It has one gilt bar and two silver bars.

I'm guessing the V.M. is for victory medal, and the POW. is for something related to it. However, it would be neat if it did end up pertaining to "prisoner of war".

Yes. It's a long service medal. The ribbon is faded on the front.

I think I found his gazette for 2nd Lieutenant in the Scottish Rifles. It looks like he was in the 1/5 Seaforth Highlanders, then became an officer. If I'm reading the MIC correctly, his War Medal and Victory medal will be named as an officer (Scottish Rifles). I just purchased his 1914-15 Star, which is named as a private in the Seaforth Highlanders. I wonder where the King's African Rifles fits into the puzzle? data.pdf

I just received this marker for a wehrmann who is buried in Halluin. The volksbund.de site shows that he died October 27, 1917 and has him in block 3 Grab 330. This marker is grey plastic. It mentions Halluin on the back, along with some numbers. Any information that could be provided would be greatly appreciated.
