    1. I would second that! Burg Hohenzollern has a great display of medals in the Schatzkammer. Mostly from Kaiser Wilhelm I, Wilhelm II, and other von Preussen family members. Another get display is at Hohenschwangau in Fuessen, the tourist trap by Neuschwanstein. Awesome display of Bavaria stuff. Schloss Hohenzollern in Hechingenm has a nice but small display of Proncely Hohenzollern medals (small meaning I almost missed it in the tiny display case)

All three are worth the trip if you're in the neighborhood.

    2. It says:

      Showa 17, January 11th (Showa 17 = 1942)

Kanesawa (Perhaps the city the soldier is from)

Manshu troop 121 Sasaki unit (Manshu = Manchuria)

Tsubaki Unit, Fukada Kazuo (soldiers Name)

Thanks to the Japanese Cultural Center at the Embassy.

    3. My wife's aunt was a US Army nurse in the PI during WWII. She recently died and in going through her old trunk I found this photo of a Japanese Soldier amongs other Japanese soldier photos. Can someone tell me what the description on the backs says?

      Thanks,

      Dan

    4. "There is also another FR 73 history I have with the title:

Erinnerungsbl?tter aus der Geschichte des F?silier-Regiments Generalfeldmarschall Prinz Albrecht von Preussen (Hannoversches) Nr. 73 w?hrend des Weltkrieges 1914-1918, bearbeitet von Dr. Max von Szczepanski, Berlin 1923"

David, I actually have that one all ready. It is a small paperback, but interesting.

    5. This is the one I have been trying to find:

Geschichte des F?silier-Regiments Generalfeldmarschall Prinz Albrecht von Preu?en (Hann.) Nr 73.

I've seen it but loose the bids. Maybe more than I want to spend i guess.

    6. Very Nice bar.

You know someone with some MS Access skills should be able to take those huge Excell files I saw of all the navy officers and their decorations, and run a query looking for an officer holding the EK, HOHX, Old, and HH and it should spit out an answer. Assuming the files are accurate. Unfortunately, I don't have that skill set.

I've tried using pivot tables, filters, etc, but the files are too big.
