Again, a very nice example.... You have a good eye, Hubert
I take it that KM badges are your main interest?

Good morning, Hubert...
You are right.... Juncker has the best U-Boat design, and you have a prime example. Very nice!

But, did the Schwerin die engraver know the difference between an eagle and a parrot??

Thought I would put this set up after a bit of a practise with the new camera (Nikon D610)....great camera, came out rather well I thought.
The badge itself was obtained from the family of Wilhelm "Willi" Koch, a pilot with JG3 “Udet”. He nearly made to the end of the war, but was unfortunately killed during operations against allied fighters, and was seen by his wingman crashing into the Schweriner See on the 2nd May 1945, never to be seen again.
I was told that he always wore his cloth Pilot's badge, keeping his metal badge for special occasions....hence the condition.
Obverse....

I managed to nab another minesweeper from the same auction that the Schwerin U-Boat badge, I recently posted, came from.
This example is from the factory of Otto Schickle - Pforzheim, and is an early piece in tombak. It has a "Been there" bit of wear.... but anything early, in any condition, by this maker, seems to be getting harder and harder to find nowadays.
Anyway, minesweeper by Schickle.

Very nice! The 25 and 50 look just as mint as the 75.
And is that a Juncker hollow PAB I see?

I try to buy the best I can rather than upgrade.
Cheers, Ned.
That is certainly the best way to go when collecting.
What a stunner, Ned... Probably the best I've ever seen.

I can't see any problems with it, Lambert.. Looks like a well worn piece by Deumer.
