I did not buy it, because the author is my brother . But people here are buying like hell. The book contains pictures of all existing badges, every with detailed English description. Also pictures of many award documents, which were never published before. And a list of producers with their marks, etc. etc.

Thanks for infos. How was this trip organised? By ship? Because, if some 500 persons accompanied Tito on the trip, it would need several planes to transport them.

Thanks for infos. I was in contact with both sources, but unfortunaly it seems this medal was awarded in a small amount and producers are not interested. Has somebody knowledge how many was produced/awarded? I would appreciate, if you could give here some good pictures of originals. I have this medal more than 20 years, but who knows. The world is full of bastards, who forge the medals .

Hello,
few more informations. I have Mondvor 2nd class numbered 5 179 (handgraved) and 3rd class IKOM numbered 22 012 (stamped).
Partisan stars were awarded also to other nationalities. I have seen 1st class awarded to a Czechoslovak general after the war.

Hello David,
Czechoslovak governement has approved Victory medal in 1920. Czech own desing medals ( Laslo Official Type 2) were produced in 1922. Before this, governement has approved a wearing of Belgian model medals (Laslo Unofficial Type 1 and Type 2) , which were produced by several private companies. Two of producers, Alexander Leisek and Edward Riemer, marked their medals. These are quite common, if you wish I can obtain them for you. And of course, if you come to Prague it will be a pleasure to meet you personaly , to show you some medal shops, invite you for a lunch or a beer .

First volume (out of four) of detailed encyklopedia about Czechoslovak legion in Russia was published today. It contains some 700 quality pictures mostly never published before. The chapter about decorations is a result of 30 years of reaserch in military archives. Besides other it describes 200 orders and medals awarded to Czech legionaries by governements of 12 states. Also all uniforms and rank insignias during our "anabasis" in Russia. Unfortunaly the book is in Czech only.
