    1. Here is one that's for sale right now.

      Item#310009135725

I have some questions about this one though... does anyone else have issues with the following

The serial number looks weird, the MD mark is weird (different), the finial is less pointy, the second and third symbols are weird (the rings of the symbols are filled), not the same smooth curvature of the flag on either the top or bottom...Sloppy attachment of screwpost...although this could be a repair... a few other little issues...

      Anyone agree???

      Cheers

      JC

ps. forgot to mention the $1355 asking price.....

    2. JC... so can we assume you have an A1 / A2? If so - please show some pics :cheeky::cheers:

      HI Bob,

Yup!! I have two of each!! They are sitting in my display cabinet next to my order of victory and my victoria cross!! :cheeky:

Bob, I'm a realist at heart and I'm afraid that those pieces will probably never be mine!

I'm pretty sure that A21 and A31 ain't gonna happen either.

I'm still young(ish) though, so who knows.

and sorry I didn't reply to your PM but thank you very much for the info...

      Cheers

      JC

    3. Right now, I have suspicions that the unnumbered ones may just be "escapees" and unawarded.

      Hi Ed,

I'm assuming you're referring to the 1.3 variation, correct?

I went through a few boxes and I came across these two little docs, the one is numbered but I'm afraid I don't have the matching medal.

First up though a set that Vatjan posted a year or two ago....

      JC

    4. OK, . . . .

      Try this:

      Type 1.1 (numbered, screwback, engraved number); Low = 81/High = ???

      Type 1.2 (numbered, screwback, stamped number); Low = 3543/High = 4501

      Type 1.3 (unnumbered, screwback)

      Type 2.1 (numbered, pinback); Low = 541/High = ???

      Type 2.2 (unnumbered, pinback)

      ????

      :banger:

Does anybody have a picture of a Type 1.3.

I'm having another look at these....

      JC

ps. or a type 2.1 for that matter...

    5. I'm just trying to put a few things together here....

In the signature thread (posts 22,23,24) there are several documents that have the signature of a mystery man named Sharav...

The dates range from 1950 to 1958.

In the pages Bob has posted there is a Mongolian hero B sharav.

Could this be the same guy??

Is there more text in the book about this man or is that it???

I whipped out the old dictionary and did a translation of the text and here is what I came up with.

It was an easy translation for a change so I'm pretty confident it's right. Fingers crossed!

Anyway, I'm speculating for now until I get my copy of the book, Thanks again UB6356!!

      Thank you very much UB6365!!

      I stand corrected!

    7. The Last Awardee of Honorary Medal of Labor (dd 23.11.07)... And it is me!!! ( On the left side, of course with President Enkhbayar on the right side.) Hope will be awarded with some orders in futgure...

May I be the first to say.....Congratulations!!! :jumping:

We'll all hope for orders but for now that medal looks pretty good!!!

      Congrats again!!!

    8. Ooooohhhhh, JC. I see cause for concern here (though I don't have any hope of reading bichig). Hope you don't mind, but I am sending this off to UB for comment.

      It bothers me. A lot.

      Thanks Ed.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that's bothered by it....I hope the good doctor can shed some more light on the matter...

I must say that the source was not, let me be polite, reputable.

What are your thoughts on the one Jan posted???

The writing is equally bad and also has me concerned, although much less so than about mine.

      JC

    9. I just got this document in, and something about it is bugging me....

It looks OK and is of the same type as the one Jan posted in post#39 of this thread, but the hand written Uighur is "weird". It just doesn't look right!

I've also never seen the date done in this way before and the signature is just plain sloppy.

      Any thoughts?

      JC

      Awarded to Mr.Borisov #45455

    10. I still hope that one day I will get one :(

      Order of Victory

Well I think that Igor may still have two that he hasn't listed yet....

Perhaps just a theory but who knows ...My guess is that he'll list #448 at well over 3k any day now and perhaps #1635 will follow...

      I'm glad I have a couple and that's enough for me........Just need a few small pieces to complete the puzzle... A21,22,25,31,40.1.2,60 B02 C01,2 D01,2,3 F01 :banger:

      Anybody wanna help???

    12. So another Gonchigiyn Bumtsend on the left.

Is that a second signature next to his?

I had a look at this signature and it looks to be a fellow named Bayar.

That name shows up many many times in award booklets both in Mongol script and Cyrillic.

I've had a look at the other docs. you posted and these are the names I got.

Some you had, just adding a few more although I'm not sure who they all are..

      the docs in....

Post 16 and 17: Tsede(?) could be another letter after the last E but it is less obvious on the later document Jan posted (#21)

      18: Bumstend

      Bayar (Can't find him anywhere)

      19: Yanjmaa

    14. Great looking set you have there Bob... Too bad I don't have the badges to go with the docs.. Well the search is on!!

The best I can do is a picture of the lady above wearing her udarnik and a ribbon bar for what looks like the order of combat valour and something I can't make out....

Seems a little unusual to me but I might be wrong.
