Thanks D.
God, you guys are going to have me spending more money. I told myself I'd stay away from badges, but these are just irresistable.

Darrell,
When did you get that Juncker?? Or did I just miss this???
Nice.....
John,
Beautiful. I think I'll just sit back AND ENJOY THIS.
More????

Hi Gordon,
I hadn't even thought of that. I double checked, and sure enough it's marked 10. I also noticed the cross appears to have been laquered. Interesting.

Nick,
These were produced like standard EK's.
In the other thread I was inquiring about whether or not the owner knew if the conversion had been done war time. This COULD have been a replacement or wearing piece for the field.
Interesting piece either way. Dave, can you get a pic of the reverse, and possibly the suspension loop??

John,
These are beautiful. Of all the "badges", the Luftwaffe are the most beautiful. Just my opinion guys, please don't jump on me.
Thanks for this post, very informative. I hope the Luft guys will post more of these beauties.

Jim,
Lovely piece. I see the ring is not soldered,is this always the case on this particular version ?
Hi Jon,
I believe they were soldered when issued. This may have come off a medal bar (my belief) as the ring is also somewhat smaller than the norm.
When I recieved it, the ribbon was separate like when in a packet. It now resides next to it's brother, an A type.

Chris my friend,
So glad you're here. I think you'll enjoy this site. Very friendly and many familiar faces too.
Dave,
That is a very interesting cross. Was this converted during the war? If your friend is too terribly upset with it, I'll take it off his hands!!!

Hey Guys,
I know most of you have seen this before, but since there seems to be a lot of interest in the KVK's here, I thought I would throw it up for your review.
It was discussed elsewhere and found to be good, and even another example like this showed up with a Detlev COA. The cross is marked "10" and in mint condition. The case is very generic, much like that of a wound badge. The color is maroon, and the top liner is not as blinding white as it appears.

Hi Gordon,
Thanks. I am learning to be much more careful, and conservative, when searching out these variations.
I've got my eye on a Ubergrosse now.

Here's the large packet. Sorry about the glare.

Tony,
Here are the 100 packets:
First the small one:

Oh...... my.
A few of you have been holding out. God, I love these, hooked forever I'm afraid.
Tony,
Nice to see another of the small blue packets for the 100. I have examples of both the large and small blue packets for the 100's. Love them.
Gordon,
I too love the S&L's. Your cased example is the first I've seen, and certainly one of the finest looking EKII's I've seen.
Now that we can post photos, here is the mark on the bottom of the L55 EKII case:

Hey, don't forget that guy from Colorado!!!
Unfortunately, I'm working all weekend but I really need to post my unmarked KVKI. Maybe you guys could help me figure it out.

Oh, you gentlemen got my attention with the Aux. Cruiser badges. I think this is the most attractive of the KM badges.
I might be interested into venturing back into badges with some help. I got burned so badly in my early years I just gave up on them.
Any suggestions for reference in the area of badges??

I love these hard cases but have had no luck at all finding one.
I've seen a few that have a royal blue color flocking in the base. They are exceptionally beautiful.

Fantastic. A couple of rare crosses here. I really like it Laurence.
Thanks to both of you for sharing these.
This is one great thing about the internet, a few years ago you just couldn't have seen these beauties except in old catalogs, and then in poor black and white photos.

Hi Greg,
No, not rough at all. It's just like running your finger across a KVK. In fact, in normal room lighting, you could miss the pebbled finish if you didn't look for it.

Freikorps
in Germany: Weimar Republic & Deutsche Freikorps
Posted
If you are familiar with the Osprey series of paperback books, in the Elite series, "The German Freikorps, 1918-23", by Carlos Caballero Jurado, is a very good little book.
Lots of photos and illustrations including unit insignia.
