    1. Hallo Alex K, the cast bubbly apperance of this medal would make me have second thoughts as well, unless it can be verified that its a "late war" model and keeping in mind that once the Italians went over to the Alies, Hitler ordered this and any other Italian decoration being worn to be removed imediately from German uniforms. There is a silver version, apparently because it was made by a different manufacturer than the bronze one, the silver has been called second class, but there never was any class with this medal "One size fits all" I am sure other more knowing members will contribute shortly Kevin in Deva.
    2. With regards the Romanian Camo Jacket, I forgot to mention it seems to be made in Cotton, button up front, tape in the hood, tape in the waist, tapes in the wrists, Elastic cord probably would have been more useful Kevin in Deva

    5. The carrier in detail, its made from synthetic leather material, and closes with two buckles. Kevin in Deva
    6. One of the two Webbing retaining straps. The button is the upper part, leaving the belt to rest mainly on the cloth strap (still a lot of weight put on the sewn button fixing point.) Might have been an idea to have had two more located between these and the centre point of the back area to spread the load more. Behind this can be seen the the area where the waist tape is located. 8. Outer collar fastning tab. Opposite collar fixing point for tab. Strange double triangular piece located inner upper right front of jacket, Wind-breaker? Kevin in Deva
    9. Liner, sleeve with inner elasticated piece to stop the cold and retain body heat. Outer Jacket sleeve with tape fastner and liner fixing loop. Kevin in Deva.
    10. The large hood, possibly designed to fit over the helmet (well in theory anyway ) Detail around over the shoulders. Kevin in Deva

    12. This is just one of the 4 variations of Camo here in Romania. The light green coloured material is the liner. Kevin in Deva
    13. Hallo Gents while wandering around a Car Market in Soimus about 5 km from Deva, I came across these items: Romanian Army Camo Combat Jacket c/w button in liner and hood in the collar. (Never issued). The jacket is mid-thigh length, with a cord sewn into the waist and with a liner held in place by 21 buttons. The jacket has two upper pockets, openengs for these are on the side of the pocket not the tops. Two lower pockets have a slanted opening with no flap. Access to the hood is via a 13cm zip set in between the shoulders, the hood is quite large. On the shoulders two eppulates with black metal buttons, on the waist two more straps with black metal buttons to hold the webbing in place, (apart from these all the other buttons are green plastic.) I believe the jacket to be for cold weather wear when the liner is in, there is a strange double triangular piece, in camo material sewn to the top right inner, a storm flap ? There is inserted inside the sleeves of the liner an elasticated wrist to prevent cold air going in or hot air escaping. The jacket is made of cotton, and probably offers little wet protection. More detailed pictures to follow. Kevin in Deva
    14. Hallo Rick, can't agree fully with the theory with regards the tank picture, this could have been taken anywhere well behind the lines, normally tanks were moved so far forward by train, obviously to a point out of arty and airforce range then driven up to the front. If she was able to picture tanks at the front why not more shots of the troops etc...etc.. in the album or are there?? Kevin in Deva
    15. Interesting point raised but are there any recorded instances of women actually being in the frontline during the time of combat? If working in the rear areas in Field-hospitals that were shelled does that rate as front-line?? Either British, German, French etc... etc... Kevin in Deva
    16. Romanian Communist Button detail / Post Romanian Communist Button detail. Sorry for the bad pictures, tricky to photograph shiny silver objects Kevin in Deva
