    1. Gentlemen

First let me thank You for Your kind contributes.

I know Wikipedia (I wrote above "in Internet....."), but the problem is that I am a "name perfectionist" and to me is Wambold and Wambolt or Schmitt and Schmidt totally different names. That´s why I always look for official evidences (birth or death docs., etc.)

If I knew the actual family address I´ d write them asking for that, but I don´t know who they are and where they live.

      Rgds.

    2. I have a Karteikarte reading : Maj.dR. Frhr. „Wambold“ v. Umstadt
      In Trauerannoncen steht : Maj.dR. Frhr. „Wambolt“ v. Umstadt
      In Personalveränderungen 1941 steht : Maj.dR. Frhr. von „Wambold“
As in both the K.Karte and the PV there is „Wambold“, that should be correct BUT in Internet there is „Wambolt“ like in Trauerann., so „Wambolt“ correct ???
Also,is „v. Umstadt“ the correct completion of the name(and therefore PV. is wrong) or what ?
I hope somebody can help, thanks

Finally I have good news for You. After months of hard work I can now announce that most of the Name Registers to the DAL are ready. Until now I could make :

      a) all Hptm./Rittm. from DAL T Stand 1.5.44 (same complete style like in Keilig´s Rangliste/DAL 1.5.44) (ca. 4,5 MB) 50 €

      b) all Obersten down to Hptm. from DAL 1.5.43 incl. San., Vet. u. W-Offz. (but intentionally without Gen. and OL. & LT.), in the same complete style like above.(ca. 8,5 MB) 100 €

      c) all Obersten down to Hptm. from DAL 1.5.41 (but intentionally without Gen.), but this in a simple style (ca. 0,6 MB) 20 €

      d) I am now just working (I made about the half) on the Name Register of DAL 1.5.40, and here too all Obersten down to Hptm. (and intention. without Gen.), this in a simple style like above). I guess it´ll be finished in August.......

      e) it remains to be made the Name Register from DAL. 1.5.42 and I plan to make it in September.......

N.B.: I can send You little examples of "simple" style and of "complete" style. For all 3 Registers price is 150 Euro only !

Who is interested to buy my Name Registers, which have cost me so many work hours (each Name, each line handwritten/typed in Computer and all checked), must sign before a Copy-Right declaration

      Thanks + Regards, Rossano

    7. Thanks for the attempt at the name.

In my research into the GD officer database I am only up to the end of 1943/early 1944 so far (and it is far from complete) so as of this moment I don't know who held those positions in 1945. I know that by July 1944 the commander of the Pz.Art.Rgt GD was Major Röckner who was an Oberstleutnant by December 1944. Again, in July 1944 the commander of the Nachr.Abt was Hauptmann Plange.

With regrads to the section for personel research etc then it is usually the Third Reich Documentation section. The only mention of the 1944 DAL with reference to Oberleutnante that I've been able to find is in the thread as the DAL 1.5.43. You could try contacting Glenn J as he is the owner of the DAL May 1944.

Thanks. As Kdr. of Art.Rgt."GD" I have Ob. Albrecht (possibly until Nov. 44, or did he quit before ?). Was Roeckner (so correct, 11.44 OTL. and 4.45 Ob.) Kdr. already from about June 44 (until 5.45 ?) or 6/7.44 only temporarily then Kdr. from about Nov.44 after Albrecht ? One last thing, are You sure about the name Plange as Kdr. NA."GD" ? I find this name nowhere. Was he ev. a Res.Offz. ? Can You ev. show me the document or list where You found this name ? Maybe a similar name is correct instead.

Then You´ve not replied to my question below :

"As my only interest is Stellenbesetzung(roster) of german Army officers (no Luftw., no Kriegsmar.) and their positions (from 1.9.39 to 8.5.45 only), is there here a Forum (with experts) which deals with such matters or no ? I looked here in the Forums around but I found nothing (or little) of interest to me"

    8. OK, some more and all these are Großdeutschland related and would be of great help both for additions to this database and also in my efforts to compile a database of officers who served with GD...

      1) 12./Pz.Gren.Rgt GD Sept 1944 - Believe it says Freiherr von Wesenhausen but confirmation &/or additional details appreciated.

I too read "Wesenhausen" but as I found such name nowhere I believe it is "Tiesenhausen"

My data bank is large but it does not cover minor officers (like Kp.Chef, or Rgt.- & Btl.Adj., or Btl.Kdr. inside Rgt., etc., to me not interesting), so here I can not help You.

By the way, I miss a few officers of Div."GD", do You know who were 1945 Kdr. of Art.Rgt., of Nachr.Abt., and of Reit.Abt. and also Div.Ing.(V) and Nachsch.Führer ?

As my only interest is Stellenbesetzung(roster) of german Army officers (no Luftw., no Kriegsmar.) and their positions (from 1.9.39 to 8.5.45 only), is there here a Forum (with experts) which deals with such matters or no ? I looked here in the Forums around but I found nothing (or little) of interest to me. But maybe You can help me find a topic. Some days ago I happened to read a topic where somebody of the group "old contemptible" showed a page with "Oberleutnante" from a Army DAL (Dienstaltersliste or rank list) maybe dated 1944. I tried again to find the topic (it is not "DAL 1.5.43" !) but with no success (as I don´t remember in which Forum it was), any advice ?

    9. I have also come across the the DAL AI of 1 May 1941 (regular officers General through Lieutenants). I have in my possession photocopies of the pages containing the field officers. I assume I did this before I acquired my book scanner. Must look out for this one again. This from the title page.

      Regards

      Glenn

      Hello Glenn

Does DAL A I of 1.5.41 really include Oberleutnante & Leutnante too ? Cover reports to Hauptleute only......

      Regards, Rossano

    10. Hi pals.

Stadler fell 7.9.1942 on the Eastern Front (Finland). His Death notice say, that he was a regimental-commander. He received German cross in Gold on 24.12.1941 as Major and commander III./IR 379 (169. ID) so I assume, he later became commander of the regiment.

Could anyone help me with my question?

      Gru? und Dank

      Stefan

Hello, according to his mil. career Bleyer commanded 3.41- 4.43 (as OTL./Ob.) the IR.379, so Stadler could not be commander (unless shortly as substitute before his death....). Rossano

    11. Hello @ all.

I´m searching info´s about the further career of the above saxon officer. [not to be confused with Konrad Sinz (maybe brother?) born 14.2.91, killed in Russia 1941 as Oberst and Pionierführer LI. AK]

He´s born 27.2.1893, active officer in IR 134, St. Henry 21.7.1915.

After War he joined the police. As a Major of the Landespolizei transferred in October 1935 to I./IR 53 in Weißenfels. 1939 Oberstleutnant and commander of the batallion. As far as I know he survived the war. As he was a Oberstleutnant in 1939 it seems possible that he later became a general, but I have no info about that.

      Many thanks for help.

      Gruß Stefan

Hello Stefan, I decided to help You (or do You know the answer by now ?)

"Your Richard" became 1. June 40 Oberst, and commanded as from 10.39 the Masch.Gewehr-Rgt.148, then from 2.40 maybe the Inf.Rgt.621 too, finally from 10.40 until ?.41 the Inf.Rgt.452. I have no further info about him (but if You have........).

      Regards Rossano

    12. Interesting to see the old Weimar "road kill chicken" seal still being used! I've seen it in use later, but for local units. You'd have though the Reichs War Ministry would have been quicker to get with the Current Political Situation!
