Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen......
Can anyone help me identify these medals from China or I think that they are from China......
I have a chance to purchase them and would also like to find out the appox. value if possible.......
Thankyou in advance for any help you may provide.....

Good Afternoon.....
Yes these were Britain's...... They made the plastic because of the Lead Scare and small children putting them in their mouth..... They no longer make them from what I understand and have gone back to the metal ones that are supposed to be higher quality for collectors and not toys any more....

Looks Indian made to me..... Very cheap silver and pin looks like it does not have a very sharp point.....

The reason I ask is that the rim at the tip near the suspension is thick and near the bottom is quite thin and I think that it may be an officially re-named medal..... This could have had an effect on the value but in this case not..... I would think that it is about $175.00 as it is a corps and not a regimental unit.....
Finding information on him would have to be through the National Archives in Kew by a professional researcher......

Can you post a photo of the naming on the edge.....

Chris.........
The trouble with that is the medal was not founded until 1922...... The military version of the OBE / MBE would have had the red stripe in the middle......

Hi Timo......
Denmark was not involved with WW1 as a combattant so therefor I think that the other two are more likely.....

Hi Timo......
I think that you may be right........
Victoria Cross
Navy Distinguished Service Cross
Foreign Medal - Unknown
This would have been before the WW1 medals were issued........

Hi Mike.....
Yes the slouch hat was a piece of uniform that was worn by most of the people in SA in the field with the exception of the regular British Army units who wore the helmet...... It was a standard piece of uniform for Mounted Infantry......

Timo - what dates do you have for the Rocket Apparatus Medal ? There was a Rocket Battery in action at Isandlawana in 1879. I must be honest and say that I have never heard of this medal.
Good Morning Mervyn.....
The official title is "THE BOARD OF TRADE, ROCKET APPARATUS VOLUNTEER LONG SERVICE MEDAL".....
Instituted in 1911by the Board of Trade, now called as of 1968 The Coast Guard Auxillary Service Medal......

Good Morning Timo.....
This is a very odd ribbon bar..... You have 3 different services......
The Rocket Apparatus is a Long service medal so would be worn after the Army LSGC.....
I am sorry to say that I honestly do not think that it is the Rocket Apparatus...... The ribbon is not the right size or colour...... See MYB 227......
The DSC and Regular Army LSGC are the correct ribbons but I just cannot see a person in either the Navy or the Army winning both of these medals especially when there are no campaign medals to go with them......
Also the DSC is for Officers and Regular Army Officers did not receive a LSGC.....
I have an idea but again I am not to sure but could they be ribbons for Temperance Medals?????

Duke of Lancasters Own Imperial Yeomanry
23rd Company Imperial Yeomanry, 8th Battalion.....
Would be interested in purchasing....

This tally was worn prior to Unification and for a few years afterwards till 1969/70 when there were enough of the Green uniforms to go around..... They were worn by members of the Communications Research Branch......

Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen......
Just read this thread with great interest even though it is not in my collecting field..... But one interesting item..... There was a member of the collecting community here that is a direct relation to the original Skinner who founded the regiment..... Funny thing is he collects Commonwealth Cavalry.....

Thanks for the picture..... I am not up on my non-british medals but the last two do look like the 1914-18 War Medal and the 1914 Star but they are in the wrong order.......

Have been collecting Britain's since I was a youngster when you could buy the 3rd grade lead soldiers at Woolworth's, 3 for a dime..... Also have the book that they published for the 100th anniversary of Britain's with all the sets that they have made up till that date.....
Thought I had a picture but I guess not.....
There are a few here though.....
