    1. I am sorry Johny but your message just came up as a series of code.
    2. HI, Just came upon this thread I have looked in the various dictionaries and asked the wife and we think it can only be In Memoriam. below are included all the abbreviations/abkuerzungen. we could come up with. acronym Meaning I.M. Ihre Majest?t i.M. im Massstab i.m. im memoriam IM Imperia Italian region and licence plate code IM Imst Austrian licence plate code IM Informeller Mitarbeiter I.M. Innere Mission help organisation of the protestantic church IM Internationaler Meister im. intramuskul?r Don't think it is definitive but the best I could come up with. I have excluded all the obviously modern ones.

I agree I cannot see any French Farmer not selling it for scrap, in fact come to think of it I cannot see any farmer not selling it.

Nice model, can't wait to see the finished project.
    5. Hi, Just in relation to the previous points whilst I whole heartedly agree with Laurence, Simon and Joe. I do take your point Chris, this is and can be a sensitive issue for surviving relatives. My wife's Grandfather, alluded to in other threads in this forum, was posted missing in Krivoy Rog. His son (my father in law) and daughter hold documentation but are very reluctant to discuss this or indeed question the received family wisdom on the question of either his service or death. Whilst I know certain things other elements of the family story such as regiment etc are inconsistent with the available external sources. We all know that this does not necessarily make the family's information wrong but access to the official documentation would obviously help to clarify things. The issue of his loss sixty odd years on is still a raw one for the family and, for me it would be insensitive to dive in, just to sate my own curiosity.
    6. Dolf, These models are super thanks for sharing them and posting some more images, Now the hunt begins!!!
    7. Cool, Looked at that post in the cold light of day and thought what a twit-however it would be nice to see some more
    8. Hi Nice post I know this going to sound really stupid but it had never really occurred, in my fore brain at any rate, to me that such things existed. So it is really nice to see something which up until that point had not existed for you, Oh I am digging my self into a huge fox hole under the weight of my foolishness.
    9. Dolf I will look forward to that
    10. Cheers Thanks for that . I am glad that you mentioned the weight, that is always, in my opnion, important in a good model.
    11. Opps-to much haste and not enough speed. Thanks Dolf-that is very reasonable
    12. Dolf, Just saw these today and they are really nice-I suspect they are quite expensive?
    13. Really, that, from an outsiders view point is very intersting. I keep making assumptions in this forum and had wrongly assumed that all masons would follow the same rituals. As alluded to in an earlier post I am from Ayrshire and the Masonic 'thing' is, in my mind, really quite prevelant. Apart from the obvious Kilwinning lodge there is a masonic grave yard in Ardrossan/saltcoats and a very strong link with the orange lodge etc so I suppose on reflection there are different associations in the West Coast of Scotland and how masons are viewed-in this case as being a sectarian group. Sorry thinking on my feet here.
    14. And that is a fair enough answer. Cheers
    15. No that has been really helpful thanks. I guess it might equally be me making assumptions. The book was found with other dated documents in my Grandfathers house, the paper is badly foxed etc. But will follow up your suggestions. I guess your not going to tell me what it's all about???? Will let you know what I find
