Laurence,
My guess is Fonson, before Fibru took over. Also, Eeckelers distributed similar examples in the 1980s but they did not manufacture these.
Hope this helps.
Thank you

Also home to DRES "Defence Research Establishment Suffield". which as the Experimental Station Suffield, then under the administration of the Canadian Army, commenced operations on June 11, 1941 as a joint British/Canadian biological and chemical defense facility. Renamed Suffield Experimental Station in August 1950, and finally named DRES July 1967.
A couple DRES highlights:
Exercise Vacuum was undertaken in the fall of 1968 with the objective “To test, under realistic battle conditions, new defensive doctrine, training agents, clothing and equipment designed as a result of shortcomings brought out in previous trials...” Almost 2000 men participated in Exercise Vacuum, which was held on the Suffield Block. Simulants (mainly based on the tear gas CS) were used in the experimental phase of Exercise Vacuum
Distant Plain 6 was a 100-ton detonation (spherical form) in 1967, The Prairie Flat 500 ton detonation (spherical form) on 9 August 1968 at the Watching Hill test site formed a 64-meter diameter crater, The Dialpack 500 ton detonation on 23 July 1970.

Working off of the amount of material that is left between the head and wreath, and the style of hinge and catch would lead me to think the GAB is a B. H. Mayer. 1.12.2 Mayer hollow GAB, to be exact, according to Frank Heukemes GAB book.

The Order of the Sword was originally presented for bravery in the field and at sea, and later also as a reward for long and distinguished service in the armed forces.

Hello Larry.
My response to this must have gone astray. But here is my understanding:
- Tarnbefehle are deception orders regarding the hitherto L-Offiziere which term is no longer in use due to the open reintroduction of universal national service i.e. open expansion of German military. The date must be somewhere around 1935?
- Zehrzulage, without any tangible source it seems to imply some kind of supplemental money grant for most likely daily food allowance. Less likely granted as in kind supplement.
I hope this helps,
Bernhard H. Holst
Hello Bernhard

So I am working my way thru the pages mentioned in the Die Wehrmacht im Dritten Reich, Band III.
trying to wrap my head around a couple words that are eluding me.
"Alle Tarnbefehle für das bisherige L-Offizierkorps"
and:
"dort auch über Zehrzulage"
Thanks for any help

The left flank. I was not sure how black horses and black tack would work, however I am happy with the out come. I ended up using Vallejo "German Grey" which is almost black as my base coat, followed by a medium dry brush of Vallejo "German Cam Black Brown". followed by a light dry brushing of black. I used gloss black for the tack as it's finish has a different appearance from matt paint and shows up better after it has been Dullcoted.

Perry Miniatures 28 mm French Cuirassier, I have depicted them riding the French horse Boulonnais of Flanders which enjoyed a great popularity in amongst European heavy cavalry. Napoleon purchased thousands of these horses for his cuirassiers. Napoleon would traveled in a vehicle drawn by six Boulonnais mares.
They are based on 40mm x 40mm bases for Black Powder rules.0 -
The shape of the crown on number 8 would lead me to think Belgian or maybe Dutch.

nice "little" paint job. i can never get the plumes right.
Thanks
All I did was paint them white . The last part of my process involves "The Dip"...this adds the shadowing to the feathers. It's basically a wash and a varnish finish, that I use. This helps keeps the paint from flaking off thru excessive handling.

The only thing I do different than the tutorial shown is - at $30 a can - I brush it on fairly thick, let it sit a bit, then with a new brush I remove the excess build up.
