    1. A commision paint job I just finished. These are 28Mm Perry Minuatures depicting the 1st Swiss Regiment fighting for Napoleon. the owner will be finishing the bases and adding the flag. There are a couple inaccuracies, specifically the shako's for the Voltigure have the incorrect pompom.

      Thanks for looking

    2. This may be a good place for me to post my query!

      My Grandad served on the convoys, and we have applied for the Arctic Star now.

      However he has received 4 Russian commemoratives. One is a bit tatty now, and we've been trying to find out how we can have the ribbon replaced - can anyone point in the right direction?

      We're also hoping to remount his medals once Arctic Star sorted - does anyone know a specialist who can mount Russian medals? Both as a group and theone authorised to wear to be added to the UK medal group.....

      Thanking you in anticipation!

      p.s. in payment more than happy to upload picture of medal group & Russian individuals

      Hello

      First off welcome to GMIC :cheers:

      are there any army bases near you? if so there would be tailors that might do it. Another option is to check at a military museum and see if they know of people that mount medals.

    3. This just arrived, many thanks to Paul for the heads up :)

      It's an M36 tunic for a Beamte auf Kriegsdaur "Kriegswaffenmeister" in the Einfacher Dienst. The 1939 Rangelist der Wehrmachtbeamten Heer list 350 members for the Einfacher Dienst. There could not be many more than that added at the start of the war. In my mind this would rate as a very rare tunic. I don't have a manniquin to display it on so I am using the pictures that the dealer made. If anyone wants some different pictures let me know and I will take them.

      :cheers;

    4. Hello Peter

      I found this for you...

      ".....It was part of a 32 ship Convoy HG-7 travelling from Durban in South Africa to Dunkirk with a cargo of maize. On the 19th November 1939 the ship was intercepted and sunk by U-49 north west of Cape Oretegal, Northwest Spain and sunk at 12:19pm in position 46'51N 11'36W without loss of life. The Captain and crew were rescued by the Destroyer HMS Echo and transferred to the Destroyer HMS Wanderer before being landed at Plymouth....."
