I'm not having much luck trying to find out who signed this Ostv?lker doc,does anybody recognise the sig?

Generalmajor (1.12.43) Wilhelm von Henning:

born Liegnitz 23 March 1887, alive in 1958.

Army 1905-1919, Police 1919-24, army again from 1834,

He had earlier commanded Security Regiment Paris from 1.3.42, was assigned as CO of Ostruppen z.b.V. 71 16.4.43-16.1.44

Commanded Freiliggen Stammdivision 11 March to 13 September 1944, retreating from the Meditteranean coast during the summer and escaping into Germany.

He was a German Cross in Gold recipient, 2 January 1942 as commander of Inf Rgt 271.

Hello Dave.

In addition to Rick's above data it may be of interest that v.Henning was also the recipient of the Ritterkreuz d.kgl.Hausordens v.Hohenzollern m.Schwertern with date of 12.May 1918.

Gen.Maj.a.D. Wilhelm v.Henning died on 3.Dec.1969 in Duesseldorf.
