All I have for a couple of days,

Rising Sun 8th class Meiji era

This is a Russo Japanese War award dated 1st April 1906 (as they all are). It is to a 1st Class Naval Mechanic.

This came with my Showa Medal, I do know that it is a Meiji era doc as it is almost identical to the one above, I also know that it was issued to ot a person who was or became a Vice Admiral (Thanks Paul )

Sorry about the shadows I tried a couple diferent shots but could not clear it out.

Unfortunately these certificates do not mention the unit. I am out of town on a business trip at the moment but once I get back I will do a thread on the documents, how to read them, what they contain etc.
