One of the German English coming from the Hannover region.He as was customry in the 1900 giving credit to his clients. One of the better client whio lived in Berlin sent a message that he should come to Berlin and collect his account as the client was dieing of cancer. Lambke went to Berlin in September 1914 and was there when war broke out. He joined the colours and fought in Russia and recieved the wound badge in Black and the Iron cross 2nd and 1st class. Guest WAR LORD Posted June 13, 2005 Posted June 13, 2005 The other part of the story was his son Ernest joined the British Army, the Middlesex Regiment and went to FRANCE and fought the Dreaded Bosch. He went on to serve for 25 years and was awarded the Long Service medal.
