Naxos Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 Hello,I have this Reiterabzeichen for a while now. The patina is different then the other Reiterabzeichen I have.I got it as a RABZ in bronze, and I sought that someone shined it up. But unlike the others it is still shiny after years. Could it be a RABZ in gold?[attachmentid=55260] [attachmentid=55261]
Guest Rick Research Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 No, that IS a bronze. The gold class has the same sort of gold finish found on navy war badges.Rule #1: If you have to THINK about whether a German sports badge is bronze or gold... it's bronze. PS I would never polish this again. It simply wears the details smooth. A nice old untouched bronze will have a pleasant tobacco sort of color.None of these badges were SHINY when new. They all had a matte, soft finish.
Naxos Posted September 30, 2006 Author Posted September 30, 2006 Thanks Rick,I like your Rule #1All the Best
