Tosun Saral Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Major General Faik Pasha (Koprulu 1876- Ogurt Hill on the Murat River/East Anatolia 1916) Faik or widely known in the army as "?olak Faik"(cripplet Faik) graduated from the Military Academy as Staff Captain in 1899. He served during Balkan Wars as Chief of Staff of the 7th Army Corps of the Western Army on the Serbian Front. The commander was Brigadier Fethi Pasha who was killed in action while trying to stop the withdrawing soldiers on Kociste Hill near Manastir/Pittoli in 1912. Faik Bey promoted to Lt. Col for his heroic fights againts the enemy. He was one of the succesfull officers of the army during that very tragic war. Faik Bey was made commander of 19th Inf. Division. The division fought in 1912 in Yanya againts Greeks. Faik Bey was made Pasha and commander of the Independent Cavalry Division. After the war he was taken to Istanbul and made Commander of Istanbul. During this Balkan days he initiated to free masonry in Resne. After the resignment of Grand Master Most Worshipful Talat Pasha, the famous Grand Vezier, he was elected as Grand Master in Oct. 18th 1912. Most Worshipfull Grand Master Faik Pasha reigned until April 14th 1913. He returned to the army. During the Battles of Gallipoli Faik Pasha was commanding 2nd Army Corps.He commanded the right wing on the attacks at Zigindere on June 28th-July 3rd 1915.Brigadier Colak Faik Pasha falled at front in Aug.30th 1916 at Eastern front while commanding the 2nd AC.http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php...ight=faik+pasha
