wm5806 Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 Hi DaveThanks for pointing this out - it had escaped my notice.Fattorinis were responsible for some Masonic jewels and badges, but were not up there (in terms of volume) with makers like Spencer or Kenning. However, I don't recognise the design as being typically Masonic: yes, the double headed eagle is sometimes used in some of the higher degrees in Freemasonry, but it is also used in many other heraldic devices. The monogram in the centre is a strange one and not one with which I am familiar. On balance, I would have to say that I do not recognise it as a British Masonic piece, but I suppose it's possible that it was made for Freemasonry in another country (but I privately doubt it).Let's see if anyone else has anything to add?
