Die tiroler Erinnerungs- und Verdienstmedaille 1797 was given to those members of the tyrolian contingent that showed bravery during the fights against the invading french troops. there are known two ultrarare types of goldmedals (diameter 39mm/25 gramms and 35mm/21gramms) for highranking officers (large gold medal) and officers (small gold medal) and the normal silvermedal (39mm/18gramms) for NCO's and some soldiers. sorry i have no numbers of awarded medals.

The ribbon, i never saw one, is described as 30 mm wide, yellow with three 7mm wide black stripes and yellow edge-stripes.

    Hello Haynau,

Thank you for the reply. That is what I was interested in knowing. Can you point me out to me some sources for Napoleonic era Austrian medal information?

    All the best,

    Jaybo
