You're not wrong Gordon.

Aside from the core, the marking on the ebay Godet is incorrect. You can see the small but significant differences here...

...and a similar cross showing the same spurious 'GODET' maker mark and dodgey hardware.

Godet used two cores on there 1870 EK1's..... this was not one of them!.

it's interesting how the close-up of the "correct" godet stamp was struck twice - i guess they didn't have very steady hands back in '70

A double tap when striking the stamp. Usually one light tap to start so the stamp won't slide on the second finishing tap. Sometimes the stamping die jumps out a bit to cause a double tap.
