    Hello,

Does anyone have information on the following officer:

Leutnant von Wiese (Schutztruppe D. Ost-A)

He did held this rank during 1906.

I would be curious to find out his awards, etc ....

    Cordial greetings + thanks

    Hello,

Glenn, thank you very much for this excellent info, very much appreciated.

von Wiese und Kaiserwaldau was awarded the Belgian Crownorder for his participation in the expedition with the Duke of Mecklemburg through Afrika 1907-1908.

Any idea iff you also could trace his brotehr in arms:

Oberleutnant Weiss - also with the Schutztruppen active in the same expedition

    Thanks !

    Hi Stijn,

the only Schutztruppe Wei? serving at this time was Oberleutnant Erich Wei? of the Schutztruppe for German Southwest Africa. Wei? was a former officer of Infanterie-Regiment von Boyen (5. Ostrpreu?isches) Nr. 41 who entered the Schutztruppe on 3 February 1906. He left the Schutztruppe with effect 29 September 1919 and re-entered Prussian service with effect the following day.

    Sekonde-Lieutenant/Leutnant: 13.3.97 Hh

    Oberleutnant: 18.5.07 F7f

    Hauptmann: 27.1.13 W

His sole decoration listed in May 1914 is a Prussian Crown Order 4th Class with Swords.

    Retired as a Major.

    Regards

    Stijn,

    wrong Wei?!!

The correct Wei? was not in the Schutztruppe but attached to the Reichs-Kolonial-Amt from I.R. 148: Char. Hauptmann Max Wei?. This from the 1913 Army List.

    Regards

    Glenn

Hauptmann Dr. phil. Max Wei? retired from the Army on 18 August 1913 with permission to wear the uniform of Infanterie-Regiment Herzog Karl von Mecklenburg-Strelitz (6. Ostpreu?isches) Nr. 43. Following his retirement he was an assistant in the Reich Colonial office and living at Bayerischer Platz 13/14 in Berlin.

    Regards

    Glenn
