gjw
Hi all, I ran across this award while looking at a book on JAAF aces. It stated it was awarded for attacking and downing B-29's. Has anyone ever heard of this award? And if so, what is the criteria for its award? The book also stated it was the equal of a MOH or VC.Thanks!!Greg
Paul L Murphy
The Bukosho award was instituted during the war after the Golden Kite was restricted to being a posthumous only award since there was nothign to reward bravery in action. It came in two classes and was awarded very sparingly. I will try o dig out some more information I have in my Japanese reference books but they are still not unpacked after my relocation to London. Hopefully I will get at them in the next few days.
