Here's a snapshot of a U.S. officer @ 1938. So why is he here on this forum?

Not only Pip, Squeak, and Wilfrid (with whatever decoration he is wearing in front of them--

but he's wearing American frontline service chevrons for all that BRITISH, not American time as well!

How many of us, if we found that tunic sans ribbon bar, would assume automatically that a naughty person had sewn on a silly strip of too many of those stripes?

Further mix-and-matching... he shows two American wound stripes, but though his service has been miraculously counted, he does NOT have a Purple Heart with oakleaf cluster! TIME transferred, but not awards.
