Rattle
Luck was with me again, today. This week is great.I found me this nice piece of cold war history at the local flea market. It is a unofficial worn black beret of the 2nd Armored Cavalry during the 70's in Germany. It is named on the inside to 1st Sgt. Apsey, Howitzer company, 3rd Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment. The Black beret was worn on two tracks by the Army in the late 60's and 70's.While some Ranger units were wearing it (provisionally) in Vietnam, meanwhile, the two famous Border guard Cavalry Regiments 11th ACR and 2nd ACR in Germany were wearing it as squadron wide headgear! These proud, and very strong units were responsible for patrolling the iron curtain since the end of WW2 till 1989.Regards,Stephan
