BURGERHAUS Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 What a tiny bugger this is! Have a Nice Weekend. RobertPS reverse is marked only ges. gesch. on both the badge itself and the attaching pin plate.
Scowen Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 That is a little one, what is it 18mm?Mine's the standard size.
BURGERHAUS Posted July 7, 2007 Author Posted July 7, 2007 Don Correct. 18mm it is. I notice that my example has a hole in the center of the dot on the bow at the bottom. Did these come in 2 or 3 Types? Cheers Robert
BURGERHAUS Posted July 7, 2007 Author Posted July 7, 2007 Don I searced up my Cone and read a little about these. From the photos he shows (Type III un viewable) I would say that my example would be the more common Type II in nickel/silver. What type would you conclude yours to be. Maybe it is my addition but I can't make out exactly what the Type III should look like. Note my odd pin set-up. It does work however. Robert
Gold Party Pin Guy Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Thought I'd post the Steinhauer & Luck catalogue page with the various sizes offered.
DanCz Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Thank you Stephen - - that old catalogue page has helped a quite a bit with my research !
Gold Party Pin Guy Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Little thing I noticed - the middle badge is the infamous "Heil Hitler, Ludendorf v. Grafe" badge, but Erich Ludendorff's name is spelled wrong in the period catalogue! Notice it is missing the final "f"! So much for period references.
BURGERHAUS Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 Maybe that explains why so few are around!! I will now search for a mispelled example! Wish me luck. HA HA
