Guest Rick Research Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Posting these for my friend BerndTops-- the "lace" is METAL!!!!Bottoms (all rather Italian in construction, but read on!)--The buttons suggest some sort of private nobleman's ... what?
Guest Rick Research Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 German style Beamten rosette pips, in strongly mocked up "bullion" metal:No German wore three pips TOUCHING like that-- rather reminds me of Austrian collar patches...and yes, made by Schneider Brothers, Vienna:They used this inverted clover "BSW" mark from 1917 Karl Troop Crosses to WW2 Luftwaffe badges. The colors on these boards, if not the completely alien design and inexplicable buttons, lean me towards some sort of railways origin.Orrrrr .... ???????????????????

Christian Zulus Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Could that be a Stadtwappen (city crest) ? The Habsburg City of G?rz had a similar crestDear Hardy, that's what I also guessed - maybe shoulderboards from firefighters ?The crest of G?rz http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorizia :It's not exactly ident - maybe another town in old Austria ?Best regards Christian
Christian Zulus Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 It's not exactly ident - maybe another town in old Austria ?Might be also Klosterneuburg: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klosterneuburg with a rather similar coat of arms:I guess, that 3 towers + city wall is a rather common symbol at coat of arms ... Best regards Christian
