New Picture

Hi y'all

Here is my latest purchase. A nice picture of a German soldier with his Pickelhaube and a Mauser C96 pistol in its holster-stock. I would like to know a little more about his unit, if possible.

JR 189 was created as part of the 187 ID in June of 1916. The Division fought both in the east (Rumania) and in France before demobilizing in November 1918. Your boy is wearing a "simplified" M-1907/10 waffenrock.
