Vic Diehl Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 After 14 months of research in this area my German co-author and I are publishing our findings in the October issue of Militaria International. We have examined Prussian aviation from its earliest days and the founding of the Imperial Aero Corps, early military developments, recruiting of civilian pilots for military service, rare Prussian flying daggers, uniforms of the fliegertruppen including the uniforms of Immelmann and Richthofen. We also introduce Franz Geerdtz and the first 4 Prussian aviators. We examine the personal dagger of Navy fighter pilot Wolfgang Wiesand and share some basic information on early flight badges. The members of the forum have helped us along the way and we welcome your remarks after you have reviewed our research.
