    Hello,

Were the Hanover Guards around during the 1770's and if so where were they located. I'm also looking for a picture of what a Hanover officers redcoat during that time. I can't find anything on the web.

    thanks,

A quick search suggests that they were still in Hanover in 1757, when a prominent astronomer who'd played in their band emigrated to England. Not much help, i know but... perhaps a starting spot

    Thanks Peter

Here are a list of websites that I found on Hanover.

    8th Kings Regiment of Foot

I guess they were in the American Revolution.

A picture from the book American Heritage the American Revolution p170

This British officer's uniform coat is faced with dark blue of the house of Hanover, indicating that he belongs to a Royal Regiment. The coat's knee-length skirts are turned back for greater ease in marching.

    thanks,
