    Hi,

    I was with my girl at the normandy coast in France two years before.

    This helmet was a gift of a friend of mine.

    Its a single decal M40.

    The helmet has a rare large size. Q68 !

    Shell was camouflaged in green-brown-tan, but unfortunately most of the camo is gone.

    The single decal is nearly damaged, but you can recognize a small rest. A wild guess would be Heer eagle.

    The leather is a little bit hard and used, but still intact. The pigskin sturmiemen is marked, but indistinct.

    Liner and band sits tight in the shell. The leather is made from pigskin imo.

    Liner band is made of zinc and seems to me never removed.

    Split pins are rusted to the helmet shell.

    Some of you may have seen this already but I thought I could post here.

    First pic shows the helmet best imo, ?as it is?.

    Any opinions greatly appreciated !

    Thanks in advance !

    All the best;

    Looks like it has been treated and possibly had some rust removed, due to the pitting.

    Yes, I removed dirt and rust with an oily rag. Unfortunately...
