Bob Lyons Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Hi allThis article was in the October 18, 2007 issue of 'Navy News' :-'A review into Defence honours, awards and commendation policies has been announced and your views are being sought. The changing nature of warfare and the high operational tempo has meant that current recognition methods may not bemeeting contemporary Defence and community expectations. As a result, the Chiefs of Service Committee (COSC) hasagreed that it is time to look at how service, both uniformed and civilian, is recognised. There will be wide consultation within Defence and also with appropriate external agenices, groups and idividuals. Submissions are welcome from all interested parties, particularly from current serving members of the Australian Defence Force.Information about the review, including how to provide submissions via a web based form, can be found on the DefenceHonours & awards website: www.defence.gov.au/medals The closing date for submissions is Friday November 16.Once completed, the final report will be presented to COSC in February 2008 for it's consideration. The results of the review will be promulgated after this time.'Bob
