    Hello!

After purchasing a really nice medal of the read eagle I would like to ask aquestion about this:

Does anyone of you have some details about the rea eagle-medal made in copper gold-plated, especially how many was made and/or was given?

Thanks a lot for your help

I have no experience with the different types of Red Eagle and Crown Order Medals, but if someone can tell me between what YEARS this variety was awarded, I can tell you from Eric Ludvigsen's statistical work how MANY were awarded.

Wups. I spoke too soon. When I actually went to look, Eric has NO annual award numbers for the Red Eagle Order Medals. He only states that 137 silver-gilt pieces were awarded in 1908 before the copper-gilt type replaced them, and that an order was placed in 1916 for 1,000 gilded-zink medals of the final type--but that was probably NOT how many of those actually were awarded.

Apparently Red Eagle Order and Crown Order Medals were NOT reported in the annual Prussian Orders Lists! :(

Eric counted-- by the hundreds of thousands :speechless1::speechless1::speechless1: -- every Prussian award that WAS gazetted in those annual volumes.
