It is an Austro-Hungarian double headed eagle and I think it is for a Infantry Shako (cap).

If by old you mean orignal issue then I am 99.9% certain that it is an original piece.

Oh, thanks Ian. Yes, perhaps they are not that much faked. It's just so shiny that it made me wonder.

It was in an unsold lot at a coin auction. I bought it since it had some Swedish uniform parts in it too - so this was a bonus
