Brian Wolfe Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Hello Everyone,I had to post this remarkable "toy" that is displayed over the Spitfire Emporium in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. The owner owns KW Surplus also in Kitchener and also owns the T54/55 Tank I posted earlier today. The model is a full sized Mk IX Spitfire and is made of fibreglass. While this is not a model in the usual sense I posted it here because it is a replica and not a real plane.Check out this remarkable gentleman and his store on Google under Spitfire Emporium. He sells small scale models, replicas and books; it may be worth your time to check it out.I hope you like the photos.Cheers Brian
Brian Wolfe Posted April 23, 2008 Author Posted April 23, 2008 Here is a close up of the Spitfire. Thanks for looking.Brian

Guest Rick Research Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 What's the story behind that? Is it a movie prop, or hand-built?Makes me wonder whatever happened with the planned 1:1 battleship Yamato we heard about some years back being built in Japan!
Brian Wolfe Posted July 8, 2008 Author Posted July 8, 2008 The owner of the store purchsed this from a compant that either does or did produce full scale models. I believe he has also donated a German fighter (type?) to the Canadian Aeronautics Museum.CheersBrian
Guest IMHF Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Do you have any pictures of the inside of the Emporium? I would love to see what is in there...Thank youLorenzo
