Paul L Murphy Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 A lovely badge. These are seriously underappreciated and a lot harder to find than most people realise.
Ed Maroli Posted May 8, 2008 Author Posted May 8, 2008 Thanks Paul, Would this be for the knee mortars?
Paul L Murphy Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I don't think so. It was awarded if you qualified on mortars through a course of instruction on them as far as I am aware. I do not think the little knee mortars were covered by this, but I may stand corrected.
Guest Rick Research Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I used to have quite a few of these qualification badges... all lonnnnng gone Pre-Computer. Several had tiny little "cotter pins" (bulge in one side of the "hairpin" to prevent slipping out of the catch) and a couple had tiny little wooden pegs. What was actually the ISSUE fastener for the catch?

Years ago I saw the regimental badge with not only a cotter pin but a small chain that prevented it's loss.~Ed
