Here is an interesting little set to a guy who starts off Infantry, then goes to Feldgendarmerie, then ends up a Medic !

Looks like at some point during his service as an MP he received a serious fracture to the thigh bone which has him in and out of hospital and is probably what rendered him unfit for combat duty and transferred to serve as a medical orderly.

Whilst in hospital he is awarded the East Front medal for his srvice in the Feldgendarmerie

But the interesting thing is that he doesn't actually get the medal, just the ribbon for it. - the entry only relates to the "Band zum....."
