hi guys i have a boxed newfoundland volunteer medal its not named only numbered 1738 my question is how can i research it more?? any ideas greatly appreciated

or if any members would like to buy or trade the medal i collect victorian medals i recently got this medal but its no my area of collecting

I've seen a discussion on the medal recently, in, I think, a WWI (yep, WWI not WWII) forum of some kind, somebody asked about researching it. Now all I've got to do is find it again.
