British makers of Turkish tunic buttons

Does anyone have information as to why so many M1876/1909 Bronze Ottoman Turkish Imperial Army tuinc buttons, seem to made by UK firms? And over what time frame are we commonly talking:

Here is a sample of the typical firms in question:

Shoulder board button - ?COMPTON+LONDON+?.

23mm - D. Curteen & Sons, Maverhill.

23mm - Limerick Clothing Factory.

23mm - ?J.COMPTON & SONS ٠ LONDON ٠?.

Interesting, I've not heard of "Curteen" or "Limerick", I associate "Compton" with manufacturing military caps.
