Guest Rick Research
Here a sample of Romanian ribbon bars which arrived from Kev yesterday.I had assumed that following "wear everything together" Soviet practice (Veteran of Armed Forces could be worn with 20, 15, and 10 years medals etc etc in other Communist Bloc countries as well) but obviously NOT (?)--Top: Order of Labor 3rd Class and Labor Medal2nd row: Order of Labor 1st Class, Liberation from Fascism Medal, Military Merit Medal in Silver (for 5 years service, created 1954)Middle: Liberation from Fascism, 1961 Communist Party Jubilee, 1964 20th anniversary of changing sides Jubilee4th row: Military Merit Medals in Gold (10 years) and silver (5 years)Bottom: Military Merit Order 3rd Class (for 15 years service) and Gold Medal for Service to the Socialist Country (final type wider ribbons) There are a couple of other pre-1964 (no 20th anniversary jubilees) ribbon bars with the 5 Years Medal.So--10 and 5 years MEDALS could and were worn together? By enlisted men only? Because there is the 15 years "Order" with no MMMs at all?I would like to see mounted groups-- ribbon bars or medal bars, that might clarify these wearing questions. This State Security medal bar just seems to confuse things. Well, at least for me, trying to figure out patterns of what real people got:http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=23550
