Or perhaps in the Old Days, border posts literally had heads like this facing outwards to frighten off the non-Wendish?One thing-- having grown up near Moo Farms... cows and bulls do NOT have human teeth. Notice also that the Very Rude Tongue is being projected THROUGH the upper choppers... rather like German Panzer skulls which have two rows of teeth... and no jaw! The linguate grimace is reminiscent of Greek Gorgons.
