Looks like made out of real silver?

oops! it's 30mm. it seems to be silver, has that 'ring' to it.

i was looking through some references--couldn't find this one, but saw a few similar items. some units had honor badges made with a likeness of the commander on them.

here's an attempt to show the gold finish, which has rubbed off on the odd-looking helmet.
